Dentists set the priorities.
The needs and experiences of dental practices are the starting point: what interrupts care, what supports teams and what deserves attention next.

A SHARED PURPOSE. A STRONGER COMMUNITY.
A fraternity of dentists. A platform for shared progress.
Opportunities for the next generation of Canadian talent.

WHY SMILESIT.CA EXISTS
SmilesIT.ca was conceived around a simple belief: dentists should have a meaningful voice in the technology that supports their practices. The people who understand the pressures of a dental day should help shape its solutions.
Our vision is to create a fraternity of dentists—an inclusive professional community connected by trust, shared learning and a commitment to better patient care. By bringing clinical experience and technical capability together, we aim to help practices learn from one another and move forward with confidence.
Alongside that purpose is another: opening doors for Canadian students to build skills, explore ideas and contribute through meaningful work.
OUR PURPOSE
Bring dentists together, put their experience at the heart of technology decisions, and create opportunities for Canadian students to learn, work and innovate.
OUR STRUCTURE & DIRECTION
SmilesIT.ca is a subsidiary of LittleTechieShop.com ↗. Its intended governance model places the dentist fraternity at the centre, represented through its advisors.
The needs and experiences of dental practices are the starting point: what interrupts care, what supports teams and what deserves attention next.
Through the advisors, the fraternity’s perspective is intended to guide priorities, service development and the relevance of new ideas to real practice needs.
Let’s talk IT ↗As the parent company, LittleTechieShop.com provides the technology foundation behind SmilesIT.ca. The aim is to turn community priorities into practical, dependable solutions.
INVESTING IN CANADIAN TALENT
We want the work of supporting dental practices to create pathways for Canadian students—connecting education with real challenges, professional guidance and useful outcomes.

Our aim is to create meaningful work opportunities where students can develop technical skills, professional confidence and a foundation for their careers.
We envision supervised placements that connect classroom learning with practical experience in IT support, cybersecurity, software and business operations.
We want students to help explore useful ideas—from simpler administrative workflows to thoughtful automation—with dental teams helping define the problem.
Our ambition is to support applied inquiry into technology, reliability and practice efficiency, with clear project boundaries and respect for privacy.
These pathways are part of our founding purpose. Specific opportunities, eligibility and application details will be shared as programs are developed.
THE PRINCIPLES THAT GUIDE US
Our philosophy is reflected in how we want to listen, decide and build.
Listen to dentists and their teams. Share learning. Build around the realities of practice.
Respect patient privacy, communicate clearly and treat security as a shared responsibility.
Start with a useful problem. Evaluate ideas carefully. Keep people in control of technology.
Give emerging talent meaningful problems to explore, with supervision, feedback and room to grow.
